Turasistan Reader Privacy Policy
This text explains how personal data is processed in the Turasistan Reader mobile app (the "App") developed by Sanalogi Bilişim Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi ("Sanalogi"). The App reads passport and ID card data using the camera and NFC, and sends that data to the Turasistan account of the agency the user is connected to.
Who uses the App?
- Staff of agencies that use Turasistan
- Travelers who want to send their documents to their agency. The traveler opens the App with the agency code provided by their agency, and the App opens with the agency's name, address and phone number.
Who is the data controller?
Traveler data read with the App is processed by, and under the responsibility of, the agency that collects it. The agency is the data controller for this data. Sanalogi acts as data processor on the agency's behalf and on its instructions. If you are a traveler, please send any requests about your data first to the agency you sent it to.
Sanalogi is a software company only. It is not a travel agency, does not provide tours, tickets, accommodation or visa services and is not a party to transactions between the agency and the traveler. Sanalogi is not an authorized representative or partner of Diyanet, Nusuk or any other public authority or platform. For questions about your Hajj, Umrah, visa or travel arrangements, please contact your agency.
What data does the App read?
- Data in the machine-readable zone (MRZ) of the passport or ID card: first name, last name, document number, nationality, date of birth, sex and document expiry date
- Identity data stored on the document's chip and the facial image on the chip (via NFC)
- Photo of the passport page
The facial image on the chip may qualify as biometric data, and data collected for Hajj and Umrah may also indirectly reveal a person's religious beliefs. This data is special category personal data under Article 6 of KVKK. The agency, as data controller, is responsible for having a legal ground to process this data, for informing the traveler and, where required, for obtaining the traveler's explicit consent. Sanalogi processes this data only on the agency's instructions and with the measures described in its Information Security Policy.
How is the data processed?
Documents are read on your device, and the data read is processed locally on your device. When you check and send the data, it is transferred to the agency's Turasistan account over an encrypted connection. Once sent, the data is not kept in Turasistan Reader and is not used for any other purpose.
Permissions the App requests
- Camera: To scan the document
- NFC: To read the document's chip
- Internet access: To send the data you have checked to the agency's Turasistan account
Who is the data shared with?
The App sends the data only to the Turasistan account of the agency that collects it. Sanalogi does not use this data for advertising or marketing and does not sell it. Sub-processors that provide us with services such as hosting can access the data only as far as the service requires and are subject to the data processing terms (Article 14) of the Membership and SaaS Service Agreement. The agency may, under its own responsibility, transfer this data to the systems of authorities and platforms such as Diyanet and Nusuk for Hajj, Umrah, visa and travel procedures; the agency is responsible for these transfers, including transfers abroad.
How long is the data kept?
Traveler data is kept in the agency's Turasistan account for as long as the agency decides; when the agency deletes a record, it is removed from the account. When the Membership and SaaS Service Agreement between the agency and Sanalogi ends, any data left in the account is irreversibly deleted or anonymized within 1 year at the latest.
Security
The data is protected by an encrypted connection while it is sent; the other technical and administrative measures are described in our Information Security Policy.
Your rights
To exercise your rights under Article 11 of KVKK, you can first apply to the agency you sent your data to. Requests that reach Sanalogi are forwarded without delay to the agency concerned, and you are informed. The ways to apply are set out on the Data Subject Application Form page.
